If you are below 35 years of age and proficient in English you can apply to become part of our dynamic team. You'll get to realise your own ideas working with brilliant people for a good cause. Current openings: new editors and tech editor

We accept applications for all roles year-round, but right now we're especially looking for new editors, and for a tech editor.

Here's a brief summary of the two roles:

As a E&M editor...

... you will head one of the six sections of the magazine. You'll decide which stories we run and how we present them.

... you'll be responsible for motivating your authors, assessing their work and giving them direction.

... you'll have the right to decide on most matters related to the running of the magazine: partnerships, financial matters, marketing strategies, organisational structure, future projects and workshops

As a E&M tech editor...

... you will use your tech skills to change the way we see Europe!

... you'll have a flexible role, which will depend on your interests: we are primarily looking for a webmaster, but we'll be very happy if you'd like to be involved in layouting articles, training others, or developing new features for the website.

... you'll get useful experience in a whole range of areas, and meet people from all over Europe.

Both roles place you at the core of the magazine - an expanding project with plenty of opportunity for you to use your own creativity. In the last two years, we've won the Charlemagne Youth Prize, organised two extremely over-subscribed workshops and added a new section to the magazine - but there's always room to go further!

Many editors also do quite a bit of project management as well as creating each new issue of the magazine. If you join the team, we'll agree on a combination of tasks which fits your interests and strengths - so if you like, you can call a partner one day, write an article the next, and organise a European jamboree during the summer break.

"If you had told me before that we make it work with editors from seven countries and authors from all over Europe, with only our commitment to drive us forward, I would have laughed and said: 'That's impossible!'"
