Did you know...? ...that good sex is hardly related to age? According to a survey by the German magazine Freundin, 62 percent of the women polled answered that as they grew older, they learned more and more about their likes and dislikes vis-à-vis sex, and therefore were more able to enjoy sex. A total of 11,014 women between 25 and 69 participated in this study, so there is no reason to be discouraged if you have yet to find your preferences at the age of 30. However, before it comes to exploring your preferences, the question is: what is the best age to start? Concerning this question, the market research company Harris Interactive and the dating site Meetic carried out studies which revealed that the European Union contains a multitude of different views on the best age to start having sex. So, for example, the average Spanish lover thinks that the perfect age to have sex for the first time 22.4, while their British counterparts don't want to wait so long and prefer to start a year earlier. In reality, Germans first have sex at the average age of 17 whereas the Spanish start making love one and a half years later. In France, the country of love, the individuals polled state that the first sexual experience should wait until the lovers are 21.4 years old. Nevertheless, reality waiting is not quite so easy for them; the French give in to their desires on average at the age of 17,5 years. So, there is no best age to start having sex! The next good news comes from United States. Sharon O'Brien, a licensed professional counselor, states on About.com that the magic hormone that regulates human sex drive is testosterone. It doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman; testosterone is the key. Fortunately, most men and women continue to produce enough testosterone as they age, so they maintain their interest as they get older. So, there is also no best age to stop having sex! Looking back to the Meetic survey- on one question the different nationalities do agree: 59% of British people believe that sex can be good at any age and so does the majority of the European population. Sex and age- they don't have much in common! |
